The Costa Concordia

by Hal Mooz 24. February 2012 14:10

The Captain was supposed to make his decison based on the Navigation Charts (doctrine) and the Martime Rules of The Road (doctrine) augmented by GPS data (facts) and fathomenter data (more facts) instead to emotionally please his girl friend he made a strictly emotional decison and drove the ship too close to the Island and onto the rocks. Emotion is a risky judgment basis when the potential consequence of the decision is significant.
