Mike Tyson denied entry to New Zealand over 1992 rape conviction

"Iron Mike" Tyson is learning once again that you can't escape your past, now that all of New Zealand has slammed the door in his face. Never mind that the tattoo on that same face was inspired by the designs of the Maori, New Zealand's indigenous people. And never mind that he was scheduled to appear at a charity event. New Zealand has a policy against welcoming convicted rapists, and so immigration officials canceled his visa. Officials had decided to make an exception in his case, but that decision was overturned at the last minute when the prime minister spoke out against him and the charity decided it would be better off without him. Sorry, Mike, but this was not a low blow.
