Fatal text message: Parents reveal son's last text before fatal accident

Texting and driving is something that so many people speak out against, and some parents are now trying to strengthen that fight. UPI.com reported on Thursday, April 11, 2013, that the parents of a Northern Colorado student, who died while texting and driving, have shared a photo of their late son's fatal text message.

22-year-old Alexander Heit was responding to a text message back on April 3, 2013, when he drifted into oncoming traffic. He jerked the wheel, overcompensated, and rolled his car off the road. Heit died shortly after the accident in Greeley, Colorado.

His phone was later found in the car, and it appears he was sending a fatal text message that was cut off in mid-sentence. His parents have chosen to shares a picture of the phone hoping it will remind everyone how dangerous it is to text and drive. "Sounds good my man, seeya soon, ill tw," read Heit's last text. Eyewitnesses say that Heit had his head down when he began to drift into the oncoming traffic and then lost control of his car.
